Reminder: Increasing the statutory minimum paid leave entitlement
Monday, February 2nd, 2009 at 12:00 pm
From 1 April 2009, the amount of statutory minimum paid annual leave will increase to a maximum of 28 days. This can include bank holidays, so effectively means an employer must give holiday of at least 20 days to full-time staff. It will no longer be possible in most circumstances to pay staff in lieu of taking holiday.
The following article sets out the exact requirements in more detail, for example how it applies to part-time staff. It also has a link to an interactive tool on how to calculate your staff’s entitlement. Reminder: increasing the statutory minimum paid leave entitlement.
