Whether you are managing a team at work, captaining your sports team or leading your organisation, your leadership style is crucial to your success.

People in businesses need a variety of leadership skills to get the best out of others, both inside and outside of their company. We all have our leadership strengths and weaknesses, both conscious and subconscious, when leading projects or teams, so you need to find out your individual style and how it impacts on the people you work with.

We would all like to know those qualities that go to make up a good leader, and learn the secret of their leadership style that makes them stand out from the crowd. Unfortunately there are almost as many leadership styles as there are leaders, so this is no easy solution. However, there are now a number of self assessment tools to evaluating the main leadership styles. These can help you understand and adapt your current leadership style, in order to improve your own skills. I recommend you spend around 20 minutes looking here at an introduction and a easy to use assessment tool.
