Fergie leads Ireland to World Cup glory….

World Cup Glory!

I will be away on the high seas when our newsletter is despatched, and am writing this following the Italy and New Zealand 1 -1 draw, and by the time you read this anything could have happened. So I’m writing this blog with my predictions in mind.

The French have boycotted the game and have all returned to their homeland for a tête-à-tête with Anelka following his dismissal. Every cloud has a silver lining, as they say, and Ireland have been called up to replace them – which must be a just reward as Thierry Henry is the one who knocked Ireland out of the World Cup after blatantly handling the ball before passing to Gallas who scored in injury time. So there is a Mon Dieu after all!

Manager Giovanni Trapattoni was unable to travel and at short notice Sir Alex Ferguson and Roy Keane stepped in to manage the team. Sir Alex said he had a clear window now that Ascot had finished.

Ireland quickly caught up by beating Spain and the Germans on their way to the Final – meeting none other than Eng-er-land, which left me with quite a dilemma. Who to support, having flown the red and white flag for weeks on my old jalopy? My loyalties were split – but I just had to paint my vuvuzela to the green, white and gold. Sorry Eng-er-land but I’m sure you understand - and I promise that I was wearing St George’s colours underneath, not that it did much good. Despite a gallant effort by both teams, and a last-minute goal from big Jack Charlton the final outcome had already been decided, and the Cup is now wending its way for the first time ever to dear old Ireland.

K&H don’t do miracles…but if they did…they’d probably be the best miracles in the world.

Back in the land of K&H, Poppy has successfully completed her first Accountancy exam.

Stacey Delve and Andrew Neale have also been busy studying and recently took their next level accountancy exams. Results will be known in August – so watch this space.

Congratulations to the athletes in the office – Karen, Sue, Stacey and Poppy who took part in a triathlon on Sunday 20 June, raising money for two charities, Cancer Research, and Berks, Oxon & Bucks Air Ambulance.

Finally, a reminder that following the Business Development Workshop on 30 June, there will be a little break for the summer before the next one, which is scheduled for Wednesday 29 September. These popular workshops provide an introduction to four key areas that we work on with our clients: using accounts, saving tax, and improving profitability and business development using E-Myth principles. We get really good feedback on these BDWs and it isn’t too early to book your place for September – just send me an email.

And finally finally, if you are off on your summer holidays any time soon, I hope the weather is kind to you and you have a wonderful time.
