Bernadette is back from her holidays…

Dreaming of being in the office ...(not!)
Now, I love my fellow team members but confess I didn’t give them a thought at the start of my recent holiday.
Having made a last-minute booking, hubby and I took off to catch a ray or two: destination Gran Canaria.
Before we left home we checked the weather forecast which indicated rain, rain and more rain. The flight was delayed by four hours, but, no matter, at least we would soon be on our way for some R&R. The final stage of the flight was a bit bumpy – strong winds seemed to be the main cause. Then literally seconds before touchdown, just when you wait for that final bump when the wheels touch the runway, the plane increased speed and we took off again! There was a hush over the plane, a lot of head-turning and many anxious faces. After a few very long minutes, the pilot announced that we mis-approached the runway because of the weather, but he would give it another go and if not successful we would divert. Believe me, the words “Give it another go” are not what you want to hear at that moment.
Well, thankfully, the pilot’s second attempt was successful and he landed safely to a round of applause. I have to say I was not one of the passengers applauding – my hands were very firmly attached to the seat in front and had to be peeled off! I can tell you that a few prayers were said and my thoughts were not of work or my lovely colleagues, but my babies, aged 25 and 22, but nevertheless my babies.
The forecasted rain never materialised and we had a lovely break. It’s quite amazing that, despite keeping away from the TV and newspapers while on holiday, important information still manages to get through – like the football results! Well done ManU.
I’ve just checked the feedback from our recent Business Development Workshop that was held while I was away, and once again this was very good. Our next BDW will be on Wednesday 21 April. If you would like to book your place early, then just let me know. Find out more.
