More from the world of K&H

Wednesday, June 1st, 2011 at 11:21 am

On Monday morning on Sky News, Eamonn Holmes was asked: “Have you had a good weekend?” He replied: ”Yes, for about ten minutes”. Well, thousands of ManU fans like Eamonn will have empathised with this comment. He was, of course, referring to the first ten minutes of the Champions League Final; it wasn’t that we played badly, we just couldn’t get possession and we got beaten fair and square by a class team.

And of course as if that wasn’t enough, home team Reading got beaten in the play-offs by Swansea. And don’t get me started on FIFA – they must be accountable to someone!

Back to the world of K&H and our garden is blooming lovely. We have already collected a second crop of delicious strawberries. This is Chris on strawberry picking duties earlier this week:

Here is a reminder of an upcoming workshop that Sage 50 users will be interested in:

Sage Hints & Tips Workshop
We held a very successful Hints & Tips Workshop a few months ago and I’m happy to say that we will be holding another one on Wednesday 29 June, here at our offices in Theale. See here for full details – and it’s absolutely free!  Places are very limited as demand is always high and there are currently just a few places remaining.

Pensions chaos!
The second of these breakfast seminars will be held on 22 June covering the new Employer Pension Requirements that will come into effect from 2012, which you may well be interested in attending. Full details here.

My weekend away
Well, sometimes a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do. And if NYC is calling then it’s only right that you respond to the call! This was my fourth visit to the Big Apple but my hubby Ian’s first, and although I have absolutely no sense of direction it was nice to be able to show him some of the sights and enjoy his first-time viewing of Times Square, Top of the Rock and the Empire State Building. We took in a couple of shows on Broadway, one of which was How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying starring Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) which was absolutely wonderful. I was truly surprised just how good he was; his timing, singing and dance routines were amazing.

That wasn’t a birthday treat, just a treat, but I still have a birthday treat to go – maybe next month…

Any other news from K&H this month? Mary has lost her reading glasses and is currently sporting a lovely pair of ‘Deirdre’ glasses, Poppy has organised our annual event but won’t tell us what we’re doing – so more on that next month, and Stacey has a lovely new hairstyle.

Check out who is in the Spotlight this month here.  I wonder who it can be…
